PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly sensitized high silver iodide-containing silver halide emulsion. SOLUTION: In the silver halide emulsion, a material capable of lowering photoluminescence intensity of 460 nm originating in a high silver iodide- containing phase at 77°K by≥50% is adsorbed on the surfaces of silver halide grains having a high silver iodide-containing phase.
