PURPOSE: A method is provided to allow improved uniformity of cooking operating by permitting the heating source arranged at the bottom of the cavity to operate further for a predetermined time period after the microwave oven has reached a preset temperature level. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of inputting a cooking signal; driving a top heater and a bottom heater such that the temperature of the cavity reaches a preset temperature level, in accordance with the input of the cooking signal; and permitting the bottom heater to operate further for a predetermined time period when the temperature of the cavity has reached the preset temperature level, and on/off switch controlling the heating output until the end time.
