PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance shape-restoring properties of a glass fiber mat covered by a resin film and packed under compressed condition. SOLUTION: This heat insulator 1 has the glass fiber mat 2 covered by resin films 3a, 3b of low airtightness permeability on the whole body thereof, and the glass fiber mat 2 is compressed in a thickness direction. Density of the compressed glass fiber mat 2 is 50-160 kg/m<SP>3</SP>and ratio of organic ingredient contained in the glass fiber mat is 2-5 wt.% of whole glass fiber mat. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
