PURPOSE: A projection display system is provided to improve the telecentric property of a dichroic mirror, and to prevent the difference in colors or luminance of a projection screen by arranging the optical engine optimally. CONSTITUTION: A projection display system comprises a light source emitting white light(2); a first dichroic mirror(6a) reflecting first and second rays among red, green or blue light of the white light and transmitting the third ray by receiving white light from the light source; a first relay lens group(4) arranged between the light source and the first dichroic mirror to distribute the main ray of white light in parallel and supply to the first dichroic mirror; a second dichroic mirror(6b) arranged in the first and second light passages to reflect the first ray and transmit the second ray; three polarizing beam splitters arranged in optical passages to divide incident rays into s-polarized light and p-polarized light; and three reflecting liquid displays(8a,8b,8c) formed in the polarizing beam splitters to display monochromatic image by receiving the s-polarized light and driving each pixel of the liquid crystal. |
