PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a solid electrolytic capacitor which improves electrostatic capacitance and ESR. SOLUTION: Anode foil and cathode foil, the surfaces of which are provided with oxide coating layers, are wound or laminated while sandwiching a separator, to form a capacitor element for restoring formation. The capacitor element is impregnated with a nitrogen-contained heterocyclic compound solution of a prescribed concentration by bathing or discharging, and then dried. The capacitor element is impregnated with a polymerizable monomer and an oxydant so that the polymerization reaction of a conductive polymer is generated in the capacitor element, and thus a solid electrolyte layer is formed. The capacitor element is inserted in a jacket case. An open end is attached with sealing rubber and is sealed up by calking, and is then aged to form a solid electrolytic capacitor.
