PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval system capable of providing a retrieval result closer to the result desired by a user. SOLUTION: The user transmits an examination request from its own terminal 1a to a terminal 1b friend-registered therein when an examination that is an information retrieval is executed (S12). The terminal 1b transmits the examination result to the terminal 1a (S23), and further transfers the received examination request to a terminal 1c that is friend-registered in the terminal 1b. This transfer of examination request is repeated until it reaches a terminal 1n within the range to be examined set in the examination request.
