PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus the thickness of which can be made thin. SOLUTION: Four ink cartridges 8 are placed side by side in a horizontal direction at a lower part of an ejection part of a recording medium in an ink jet printer 3 located under a scanner 30 of a composite machine 1. Each ink cartridge 8 is formed to be almost a rectangular solid with a low profile and a small vertical size, and a rib 38 projected in an ejection direction is provided to its upper side 8a. Since a recording medium ejected from the ejection section is guided externally via the rib 38, it is not required to set an ejection tray or the like as a separate unit, so as to simplify the configuration of the ink jet printer 3 and make the thickness of the ink jet printer 3 thin. Since the configuration members of the ink jet printer 3 are placed on a plane without being overlapped with each other in the height direction, the thickness of the ink jet printer 3 is made thin, resulting in making the thickness of the composite machine 1 thin and the entire size can be decreased.
