PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speech recording apparatus capable of simply searching recorded voice data even when the speech recording apparatus is connected to a side of an ISDN line network of a PBX. SOLUTION: This invention provides the speech recording apparatus 111 connected to a side of a digital communication line 102 of a private branch exchange 114 and recording speech contents as voice data in the communication line 102 having signal and information channels, to which a plurality of private telephone sets 105 are connected and the private branch exchange 114 for inserting sub-addresses to discriminate a plurality of the private telephone sets to frames configuring the signal channel at setup of a call, is provided with: an information channel recording section for recording the voice data included in the information channel; and a protocol monitor means for controlling the information channel recording section so as to monitor the frame included in the signal channel, start the recording when detecting the setup of a call, terminating the recording when detecting a call open, and attach the sub address information to the voice data and record the resulting data when detecting the establishment of the call.
