The invention relates to a method and system of managing the order in which calls received by a telephone switchboard are presented to an operator. The inventive method comprises the following steps which, for each call received, consist in: determining and storing the date and time that the call is received; determining and storing the geographical location of the origin of the call; determining a priori if the call relates to the same event as an earlier call, according to the respective geographical locations, dates and times of the call and the earlier call; classifying the call received as a priority call or a non-priority call depending on whether or not the call relates a priori to the same event as an earlier call; and, as a priority, presenting the calls classified as priority calls to the operator in the order in which they were received.
