A data recording device and method, a data reproduction device and method, an information recording medium, a program-containing medium, and a program capable of accurately identify a reproduction position when data recorded on the information recording medium is edited. The lengths of these data lds0, lds1, tds0, tds1 are recorded on a disc. Moreover, the frame numbers ofn0, ofn1 of the starting frame of the DVF-sequence#0 ad DVF-sequence#1 and the number of frames nf0, nf1 are recorded on the disc. The present invention can be applied to a DV recording/reproduction device for recording video data on an optical disc.
