A washing machine having a supply water intake being coupled with an external water supply facility, and a water supply opening (5) communicating with the supply water intake and opening toward a washing tank, wherein a unit (4) for removing impurities in the water is provided between the supply water intake and the water supply opening (5). The impurities removing unit (4) incorporates a filter comprising nonwoven fabric and water taken in from the supply water intake is passed through the filter thus removing impurities. Means for preventing an undue hydraulic pressure from being applied into the impurities removing unit (4) due to clogging of the filter is also provided.
