A paper shredding assembly has two parallel contra-rotating shafts each bearing a series of alternately interlocking cutter wheels with teeth. The rows of teeth on the same shaft are presented in a progressive helical array. The intervals between adjacent teeth on the same wheel are esp. more frequent than prior art.
