A peak hold circuit (24) maintains peak value of current flowing to vehicle motor. A main microcomputer (30M) reads the peak current value maintained by the peak hold circuit and provides current reading instruction signal to a sub microcomputer (30S). The main microcomputer outputs clearance signal to the peak hold circuit after passage of specific time interval from the output of the instruction signal.
