The mesh consists of two layers (2, 4) of crossing parallel glass, carbon or polymer reinforcing filaments (3, 5) with the filaments of the first layer partially coated with a powder based on a thermoplastic or thermosetting material for joining the layers together at points. It can include a third layer of parallel reinforcing filaments lying across the second layer and also partially coated with the powder, which covers less than 5 per cent and preferably under 0.5 per cent of the filaments' surfaces. The powder has a grain size with an average diameter of between 50 and 500 mcm, a density of 0.9 to 2 g/cc, and a mass corresponding to 1 - 10 per cent of the total mass of the reinforcing product. |
