PURPOSE:To restore many main storage spaces at a high speed by providing an OS kernel program with a virtual storage restoring routine and saving data of a main storage device to restart a system after the occurrence of trouble and restoring the main storage spaces for the occurrence of trouble. CONSTITUTION:An actual storage device 1 includes an OS program 10, a DBMS program 15, etc. An OS kernel program 14 is provided with a virtual storage restoring routine 22. If system down occurs by trouble, an operator decodes a system message and starts the virtual storage restoring routine 22 for the purpose of retsaring the system in accordance with restoration of a virtual storage space for a job to be executed again. The routine 22 releases the actual storage and a page data set area 4 and uses the released area to load the OS program 10 and the OS kernel program 14 again. After restoring the virtual storage space, the routine 22 transfers the control to a dispatcher to restart the processing of the system. |
