PURPOSE: Filtering structure of foreign matters in a drain pump of a washing machine is provided to prevent wrong operation of an impeller or noise by restricting inflow of foreign matters with arranging a filter eccentrically to a suction hole, and to separate foreign matters easily by forming the clearance between the suction hole and the filtering unit with draining water conveniently. CONSTITUTION: A foreign matter filtering system of a drain pump is composed of a pump chamber having a suction hole(58) formed in the front of an impeller arranged in a pump case(52) and a discharge port(56a) formed at the side of the impeller, and a filter(80) arranged eccentrically in the front of the suction hole. The filter comprises a grip part(82) attached and detached from the opposite of the suction hole of the pump case, a rod part protruded from the grip part for the suction hole, and a foreign matter filtering unit(86) protruded in the end of the rod part and partially overlapped with the suction hole. The parabolic section is formed in the foreign matter filtering unit, and the opposite of the suction hole is recessed. |
