The auxiliary heat exchanger (20) used for pre-cooling the air is at least partially located inside an inlet tank (3) connected to the main heat exchanger (2) for receiving the supercharged air from the compressor (9). The auxiliary heat exchanger is secured to the inlet tank to form a single unit. The main heat exchanger performs a heat exchange between the supercharged air from a compressor in the engine and cooling air. The auxiliary heat exchanger performs a heat exchange between the supercharged air and a liquid coolant and is located in between the compressor and main heat exchanger.
