<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barrel for a writing instrument in which an internal shape of the barrel is simplified and a commonalization of a ballpoint pen and a mechanical pencil is easy. <P>SOLUTION: A toroidal protrusion 13 or a plurality of protrusions disposed in an equal circumferential state are formed in the vicinity of a distal end of the barrel 10. When a knock type ballpoint pen refill 20 is mounted in the barrel, a front end of a return spring 26 for elastically biasing the refill to a tail end side is locked to a tail end side. When a mechanical pencil mechanism 60 is mounted, a recess 67 formed on an outer periphery of a tip port 66 of the pencil mechanism is locked and fixed to the protrusion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
