PURPOSE: To simply measure glucose concentration in a green leaf without collecting the leaf by supplying an infinitesimal quantity of leaf solution obtained from the green leaf to an enzyme electrode. CONSTITUTION: The part of leaf in which skin is torn OFF without collecting green leaf is held by a head 10, and glucose concentration is measured. That is, an enzyme sensor is mounted at a first head 11 having an electrode connector, and the leaf is brought into close contact with the enzyme electrode of the sensor at a second head 12. Then, leaf solution necessary to measure is supplied to the electrode in about one minute, enzyme reaction occurs in response to the glucose amount in the leaf, and a mediator becomes reductant. After a predetermined time, when a predetermined voltage is applied from an external power source, the mediator is oxidized, and a current responsive to the quantity flows. This is converted to a voltage, A-D converted, preprocessed by a calibration curve and an equation previously input by a CPU, and displayed on a display 9. Accordingly, it can be simply measured without necessity of a complicated pretreatment. |
