<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a self diagnostic apparatus for photosensors of copying machines or the like with the complete elimination of work of inserting or separating a light shielding plate by turning ON or OFF a light emitting element to generate the state of the insertion or separation of the light shielding plate virtually even when a closure is made with the light shielding plate. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element 4 and a photodetector 5 for receiving light emitted from the light emitting element 4 are arranged crossing a passage path of a paper or the like to discriminate the propriety of operation based on the presence of an output of the photodetector 5 with the insertion or separation of the light shielding plate. In a self diagnostic apparatus of a photosensor 1 of such a type, a control means 7 is provided and a pulse signal for emitting light from the light emitting element intermittently is generated to discriminate the propriety of the photosensor 1 based on a reception output detected from the photodetector 5. With the intermittent emitting of light from the light emitting element 4, the insertion and separation state of the light shielding plate are generated virtually.</p> |
