A bag (1), made from a coated fabric, plastic or leather, has upper and lower sections that can be folded towards the middle to reduce its volume. The two sections are folded along lines (5, 8) to form triangular tongues with fastenings (7a, 7b, 7'b) such as press studs, buttons or self-adhesive strips that can be attached to matching fastenings (7'a) on the middle of the bag.
