PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To publish and automatically update a telephone number and the IP address of a gateway device within a network by using an IP routing protocol. SOLUTION: In a gateway device 1, a host address 5 is created by using a predetermined network address 4A to be used for reporting a telephone number 3 to be reported, and this is added to an IP routing table 7 and published. In a gateway device 2, a corresponding host address is extracted from an IP routing table 10 created by such a public announcement, this is defined as an IP address of the gateway device 1 and further, a telephone number is extracted from this host address. Thus, the telephone number and the IP address of the gateway device 1 are automatically updated into a latest virsion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
