PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an image approximate to an image having a shallow depth of field from an image acquired by means of a digital camera. SOLUTION: An area separating section 60 separates main subject area and background area using image data S obtained by photographing the subject while focusing a digital camera at a main subject part, and image data S' obtained by photographing the subject while focusing the digital camera at infinity, and then a shading section 65 blurs the background area of the image data S.
