PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire and abnormality discrimination method for sensor circuit and fire reporting system capable of discriminating a trouble such as sensor connection mistake and precisely determining a normal waiting or a fire warning. SOLUTION: Thresholds 32, 34 and 35 for failure discrimination areas other than disconnection and short circuit are provided between a normal waiting discrimination area and a disconnection discrimination area, between the normal waiting discrimination area and a fire warning discrimination area, and between the fire warning discrimination area and a short-circuit discrimination area. A step for comparing a detected current value with these thresholds is added, whereby the discrimination of normal waiting and warning can be judged for a fire sensor 1, and the discrimination of failure of sensor lines other than disconnection and short circuit can be performed for a sensor line L1 in addition to the discrimination of disconnection and short circuit.
