The swimming trainer consists of a belt (1) fastened round the swimmer's waist by a clip-together buckle (2, 3) and connected by a fastening (6) and straps (5, 10) to a line (20) stretched above the water between two posts (13) on opposite sides of a family-sized swimming pool. A swimmer wearing the belt suspended from the line is able to practice virtually any strokes in a small pool without moving along it.
