PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that much time is required for decoding because an operation of a decoder becomes unstable in the case that the time information is discontinuous at the time of skip reproducing for MPEG data of packet form, moreover since the decode cannot be performed until PAT (program association table) and PMT (program map table) are detected, thereby requiring much time for picture display. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a time information converting means 806 for converting time information in reproduced data. The device controls so that the increasing amount of time information per unit of time is kept constant.
