PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scene list display screen which facilitates grasping of the contents of a moving picture and searching of a specific scene. SOLUTION: A moving picture contents display apparatus includes a frame picture extractor for dividing a moving picture into a plurality of scenes and extracting typical frame images representative of the divided scenes, a scene feature calculator for calculating a feature for each of the divided scenes, a group generator for classifying the scenes into a plurality of groups on the basis of the obtained features, and an image display for forming a display region for each of the generated groups and displaying a list of all the typical frame images contained in the corresponding groups in the regions. Since scenes having similar features are collectively displayed in the same display region in the form of a list, the user can easily grasp the contents of the moving pictures and easily search for a specific scene.
