PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information providing system and a mobile communication terminal for providing prescribed information when a user is not resident in a prescribed area at a prescribed time so as to quickly and surely grasp the behavior of the user. SOLUTION: The information providing system includes: a mobile phone 2 having a communication section 12 for transceiving communication information and a position detection section 13 for detecting the current position and outputting the current position information D1 as to a current position; and an information base station 3 having a communication section 23 for transceiving the communication information. The information base station 3 is provided with: a storage section 22 storing at least two designated areas that are respectively received, a designated time, designation information W1 and a designated transmission destination R1 that corresponded to both the designated areas; and a control section 21 for particularizing the current position on the basis of the current position information D1, and allowing the communication section 23 to transmit the designation information W1 to the designated transmission destination R1 when the mobile phone does not belong to the one or other designated area for a time until a designated time elapses after the current position has not belonged to the one designated area.
