PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eject a disk housed in a disk drive even after electric power supply to a control device to control the disk drive is stopped without imposing a cost burden on the disk drive. SOLUTION: When an operation to turn off a power source to a host computer is performed (YES at SA3), the host computer transmits to the disk drive control information to cancel chucking (SA5). Corresponding to the information, the disk drive cancels the chucking of the disk, and transmits to the host computer information that the chucking has been canceled. The host computer receives the information that the chucking has been canceled (YES at SA6), terminates applications for the disc drive (SA7), confirms the completion of all the started applications (YES at SA8), and terminates an operating system.
