<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector 10 for a memory card having a mechanism capable of securely protecting a second contact 16 on a card insertion side and moving a slider 18 easily when a card on one side is inserted. <P>SOLUTION: This connector for the memory card is provided with a housing 12 having a contact insertion part which has a card fitting port 30 and in which a first contact 14 and a second contact 16 are arranged and provided with a locking part 32 engaging with an engaging part 46 of a platelike piece 20, the first and second contacts 14, 16 held in the housing 12, a slider 18 having a guide channel 60 like comb teeth for protecting a contact part of the second contact 16, having a mounting part 58 in which the platelike piece 20 enters on one side in the direction of width, and provided with a relief channel 56 in which the engaging part 46 of the platelike piece 20 enters, and the platelike piece 20 having contact parts 48, 50 in contact with cards 70, 72 on both sides of a free end and having the engaging part 46 in the vicinity of a central part substantially. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
