PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce network traffic during data transmission and to improve reliability of multicast communications under a peer-to-peer network form in which a server is not interposed.

SOLUTION: When exchanging packet data among a plurality of computers 1 mutually connected to a network, first of all, a communication is set up by a unicast connection (connection type data transmitting-receiving means 22) and data are transmitted to at least one or more computers with which the communication is set up by selectively using multicast communications (multicast transmitting means 20 and multicast receiving means 21) and unicast communications (connection type data transmitting-receiving means 22). Thus, network traffic during data transmission is reduced under the peer-to-peer network form in which the server is not interposed, and reliability of multicast communications is improved.
