<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display element internally provided with a simple light emitting element in which an electroluminescent (EL) element is interposed between a first substrate and a second substrate thereof, and which is excellent in display quality and thin in thickness. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display element, the EL light emitting element 17 is provided on the first substrate 1. The first electrode 43 is formed on the EL light emitting elements 17 with a protective layer 11, and the second electrode 42 opposed to the first electrode 43 at a prescribed interval is formed on the second substrate 41, then a liquid crystal is charged between the first and second substrates. The EL light emitting element 17 is an organic EL light emitting element and has the laminated structure of a third electrode 24, an EL light emitting layer 23 and a fourth electrode 24 which are formed on the first substrate 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
