<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image forming apparatus which is miniaturized by making the length of the major axis of a photoreceptor belt short and whose printing time is shortened by making the peripheral length of the photoreceptor belt short, so that image forming time is shortened. <P>SOLUTION: The color image forming apparatus is constituted by providing two turning rollers 11 and 12 and the photoreceptor belt 13, arranging four color developing devices 15 to 18 around the belt 13 and providing a cleaning means 20 for removing developer on the belt 13.
