OPTICAL FIBER EXTRA LENGTH TREATMENT STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make extra length treatment orderly regardless of the length of an optical fiber.

SOLUTION: A flat oval wall 94 is located around a recess 96 at the bottom surface side of a media converter body. Two drum sections 100 and 101 are provided at the center of the recess 96 separately. A pigtail-side optical cable is extended along an inner periphery of the flat oval wall 94 and several loops are formed for the extra length treatment. When the remaining optical fiber is short so that it cannot be along the inner periphery of the flat oval wall 94, it is wound while spanning the two drum sections 100 and 101 for the extra length treatment.
