PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical branch transmission line that allows input light to branch off to a plurality of light having nearly the same light intensity, and can efficiently transmit light. SOLUTION: The optical branch transmission line (100) is provided with a plurality of waveguides (106) that transmit a light signal to a light receiving element (104) for converting a received light signal to an electric signal, and an optical branch element (110) that is optically connected to the plurality of waveguides (106) and enables the inputted light signal to branch off to the plurality of waveguides (106). In the optical branch transmission line (100), the optical branch elements (110) are a plurality of strip reference phase patterns formed on a substrate in parallel at an equal pitch, and are grating elements that use the reference phase patterns formed so that a phase difference to be given in the pitch changes nonlinearly to substantially divide incident light into a plurality of luminous flux having the same intensity.
