PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin composition producing a molding excellent in thermal fusibility/moldability, moisture resistance, disintegration in water, durability, strength, morphological stability or the like. SOLUTION: The polyvinyl alcohol-based resin composition comprises (A) a thermofusible polyvinyl alcohol-based resin, (B) a polyamide resin, and (C) an ethylene-unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer or its metal salt, wherein (A)/(A+B+C)=0.5-0.99 (weight ratio) and (B)/(B+C)=0.02-0.98 (weight ratio).
