This invention provides a plate antenna which can be incorporated easily in a portable terminal, electric appliance, wall and the like with a small space, and achieves an excellent general-purpose performance at a low cost and a high radiation efficiency with a single unit without using a grounding conductor in the portable terminal or electric appliance casing as part of the antenna. A slot is formed by incising a conductive plate, and a first radiating conductor and a second radiating conductor are formed with the second slot as a border and power is supplied through opposing two conductive edges which form the same slot. Consequently, two monopole antenna and slot antenna are formed electrically using currents on the first radiating conductor and second radiating conductor.
