A filter assembly (10) includes a filter cap (22) having a filter chamber (2 8) defined therein. A fluid filter (26) is positioned in the filter chamber (28 ). A spring-loaded detent button (52) is movably secured to the filter cap (22) and extends into the filter chamber (28). When the detent button (52) is depressed by a user, the end (70) of the detent button (52) positioned in th e filter chamber (28) contacts the fluid filter (26) thereby releasing the flu id filter (26) from the filter cap (22). An associated method for replacing a fluid filter is also disclosed. |
