PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing preventing fretting wear even while the bearing undergoes microvibrations due to vibrations during transportation, etc. SOLUTION: Inner and outer rings 2 and 3 and balls 5 are made from steel containing C of 0.90 to 1.30 wt.%, Si of 0.15 to 1.20 wt.%, Cr of 0.90 to 1.70 wt.%, Mn of not more than 0.80 wt.%, and Mo of not more than 0.30 wt.%, with the rest being Fe and unavoidable impurities. The raceway surfaces 2a and 3a of the inner and outer rings 2 and 3 have a surface hardness of 720 or more in terms of Vickers hardness. The rolling surface of the ball 5 has a surface hardness of 930 or more in terms of Vickers hardness which is greater than those of the raceway surfaces 2a and 3a. The amounts of austenite remaining on the raceway surfaces 2a and 3a of the inner and outer rings 2 and 3 and the rolling surface of the ball 5 are each not more than 3 vol.%. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
