摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide type glucose sensor capable of accurately analyzing an extremely fine quantity of glucose in a specimen 100, for instance, a body fluid with high sensitivity. SOLUTION: This glucose sensor is provided with: a substrate 1; a first optical waveguide layer 2 formed on the surface of the substrate 1; a pair of gratings 3 respectively formed on the surface in the vicinities of both ends of the waveguide layer 2; a second optical waveguide layer 4 formed on the waveguide layer 2 positioned between the pair of gratings 3, and having a refraction index higher than that of the waveguide layer 2; and a function layer 8 formed on the waveguide layer 4 and having a coloring reagent and ferment.
