PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shampoo composition which is effective in the extermination of human parasitic lice such as a body louse, a head louse and a crab louse and is of a low toxicity for human beings. SOLUTION: The shampoo composition for exterminating human parasitic lice contains 0.01-2 wt.% of 1-methyl-2-nitro-3-[(3-tetrahydrofuryl) methyl]guanidine and 10-70 wt.% of an anionic surfactant; and a method for exterminating human parasitic lice comprises the skin administration of the above composition to a human body.
