METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR REMOVING MACROBUBBLE IN SOL- GEL PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for removing macrobubble in a sol-gel process for manufacturing a high purity silica glass molding. SOLUTION: A vacuum state is formed in a transporting route for sol to remove macrobubble produced in a step to transport the sol from a mixer to a molding machine. That is, the method includes the step for transporting the sol from the mixer to the molding machine and the step for removing macrobubble by evacuating the transporting route for the sol transported from the mixer to the molding machine to the vacuum state. The macrobubble produced by passing through a filter or the like in the transportation of the sol is efficiently removed by keeping the vacuum state in a pipe line connecting the mixer where the sol is held to the molding machine where gel is molded.
