<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the whole of a handrail having the opposite ends bent in the shape of L, out of wood, regarding the handrail used in a house or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A workpiece 10 is disposed horizontally on a stand. A tool 16 having a cutting edge 16-3 conforming to the shape of the portion of a 1/4 circumference in a circular or elliptic section of the handrail moves with rotation along a first U-shaped track L1 and then a track L2 apart from the first track L1 by a distance of the diameter in the circular or elliptical section of the handrail. Then, the workpiece 10 is inverted and set on the stand and the tool is moved likewise along the first track L1 and then the second track L2. Thereby the workpiece is completed as the handrail having the opposite ends bent integrally. The second track L2 is displaced regularly in the shape of sine waves, in the central portion thereof, and grip parts as a series of grooves are formed on the sides in the direction of bends in the opposite ends. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
