PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous ceramic carrier having high hardness and increased carrying capacity which consists of a durable ceramic compounded with a metal mineral retaining the environment in soil because soil bacteria essentially require the metal mineral, absorb the metal mineral and grow by using organic substances and inorganic substances such as garbage as nutrient. SOLUTION: In this porous hard ceramic carrier, kaolin clay, talc clay and alumina are used as mother materials, the metal mineral is mixed thereto, the mixture is formed to a proper shape and size and, thereafter, is incinerated at approx. 1200°C in an electric furnace and macropores formed are allowed to carry organic substance/inorganic substance decomposing bacteria therein.
