PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a SCARA type robot base that enables easy mounting of a part in an arm and enables miniaturization of the arm. SOLUTION: Two arm blocks 4a and 4b are fabricated, for example, in the same structure and form into which parts such as motors 12 and 13, bevel gears 16 and 25, reduction gears 17 and 20 and bearings 11 and 24 are assembled, and both are opposed in a longitudinally and vertically inverse relation and integrally joined by bolting, welding or the like to constitute a single first arm 4.
