SEX DISCRIMINATION TECHNIQUE OF FERTILIZED EGG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a versatile sex discrimination technique of fertilized eggs coping with eggs of any shape and solving problems of conventional techniques comprising poor accuracy and long discrimination time in the case of visually discriminating the sex of eggs based on a standard diagram of the shapes of eggs prepared for each hen and the failure in finding the common ground of the sex discrimination by the use of a simple shape standard according to the increasing variation of the shapes of fertilized eggs. SOLUTION: The sex discrimination of fertilized eggs is carried out photographing a fertilized egg on a table having a mirror coated surface, digitalizing the contour data of the egg and discriminating the sex by using a parameter representing a sex character of the surface shape of the fertilized egg.
