<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing carrier for biological deodorization which can attain the compatibility of enhancement of deodorization by carrying many microorganisms with avoidance of an increase in pressure drop by preventing consolidation. <P>SOLUTION: A carrier bed 2 is disposed nearly at the center of a deodorization treating vessel 1 of a biological deodorization apparatus and the packing carrier for biological deodorization as an air permeable packing material for carrying the microorganisms for deodorization is packed into this carrier bed 2. The packing carrier for biological deodorization is prepared by mixing peat moss and porous substance in such a manner that the volumetric ratio (x/y) between the volume (x) of the peat moss and the volume (y) of the porous substance attains a range of from 5/95 to 30/70. The inorganic porous substance having a pore diameter ranging from 1 to 500μm can be used as the porous substance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
