PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for degrading a virus from a protein solution by nanofiltration. SOLUTION: The method is carried out as follows. A chaotropic substance from the group consisting of arginine, guanidine, citruline, urea or a derivative thereof or a compound from the group of polyethoxysorbitan esters is added to the protein solution before the nanofiltration. Thereby, association of protein molecules is reduced or prevented. The solution is then passed through a filter having a pore diameter between 15 and 25 nm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
