<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a more brilliant marker which has an indelible marker of a desired shape and size in a desired position while assuring contrast properties by X-rays, etc., and suppresses heat generation in forming the marker. <P>SOLUTION: A guide wire 1 (a long-sized body for medical purposes) has a wire-shaped core material 2, an inner layer 3 covering nearly the entire length of the core material 2, and an outer layer 4 covering nearly the entire length of the inner layer 3. A contrast medium consisting of powder of metal or metal oxide is added to the inner layer 3 and coloring agents which can develop colors under irradiation with a laser beam is added to the outer layer 4. The visible marker of, for example, a spiral form, is formed on the outside surface 41 of the outer layer 4. The visible marker is formed by the color development of the coloring agents made by irradiation of the surface of the outer layer 4 with the laser beam. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
