PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding implement improved in outward appearance by preventing binding legs from protruding from paper leaves, while ensuring effective lengths of the legs to be enough for filing the paper leaves. SOLUTION: The binding implement 1 has a base part 6 disposed along the edge part PS on the file base side of the paper leaves P, the binding legs 7 in a plurality so constituted that the base end parts thereof are fitted to the base part 6, and a binding leg engaging part 8 which holds the paper leaves P between the base part 6 and it and engages the binding legs 7 by bending the legs 7 inserted through a part thereof. Fitting positions of the base end parts 72 of the binding legs 7 are made changeable and thereby the effective lengths of the binding legs 7 are made extensible and contractible.
